Moving Around the Corner: In case you thought the D.C. area’s continued influx of new cupcakeries and other bakeries hawking frosted treats might be putting pressure on Warren Brown and his Cake Love enterprise, the veteran lawyer-turned-baked-goods empresario is not bending under the pressure! While he is shutting down his CakeLove location in Silver Spring, he will reopen in a larger location around the corner. [WCP, TBD] Upcoming on 14th Street NW: Be on the lookout for El Centro D.F. from chefs Richard Sandoval and Kaz Okochi to take form a few doors down from the Black Cat. The taqueria, inspired by Sandoval’s native Mexico City, will have a sit-down restaurant and a lower-level lounge. No word yet on a timetable for opening. [Metrocurean] More Baked Goods News! It’s a little unclear what Jerome Colin is doing with the strawberry in this photo, but one thing is for sure: He’s opening a French bakery, Tout de Sweet, this weekend in Bethesda. [Bethesda magazine] Recipe Ideas: I have two bags of frozen edamame at home. Now I know how to whip up a tasty edamame appetizer that doesn’t involve pods. Green hummus anyone? [Serious Eats]
