Sorry. Young & Hungry has always loved Darrow Montgomery‘s photo of then-D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty with a dancing pancake at last fall’s grand opening of IHOP in Columbia Heights.

If you’re in the mood for said pancakes, you might want to head on over to 14th and Irving streets NW to get your flapjack fill as part of National Pancake Day on Tuesday. While IHOP will be dishing out free short stacks of buttermilk pancakes between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., patrons will have the opportunity to donate money to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Last year, $2.1 million was raised at IHOPs nationwide during National Pancake Day. This year, there’s a $2.3 million goal nationwide.

According to a media advisory, all the free short stacks served last year stacked up to the equivalent of 31.5 miles! Will that theoretical stack be topped?
