Former Senate staffers Heath Hall and Brett Thompson of the politically apropos Pork Barrel BBQ company came out victorious at this past weekend’s Safeway National Capital Barbecue Battle. The Washington Post reports on their “remarkable rise” on the smoker circuit. These are the same fellows behind the hiliarous eau de barbeque cologne that generated some buzz (and a bit of nostril flaring) in recent weeks. Hall and Thompson’s brick-and-mortar restaurant in Del Ray is slated to open later this summer.
