New fish ‘n chips hub The Codmother, which opened last week on U Street NW, is already tweaking its menu. Proprietor Tolga Erbatur has scratched the dubiously titled “spotted dick” off his dessert listings, explaining that, in early tastings, locals weren’t that thrilled with the English-style boiled suet pudding. “It’s a risky dish,” Erbatur admits. He’ll be replacing the questionable stuff with more easily accessible deep-fried Oreos to go along with the deep-fried Snickers (pictured) already listed.
