Talk about the luck of the Irish. D.C.’s perennial chicken-wings powerhouse, Duffy’s Irish Pub, has gotten its wish. Last week, the District’s Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Board voted to terminate the venue’s restrictive voluntary agreement with neighbors. The blog We Love DC has the scoop. Among other things, the ruling effectively allows the place to stay open past its prior 11:30 p.m. last call on weeknights. Customers, including WRC-TV weekend anchor Craig Melvin, have long complained that Duffy’s should be allowed to stay open later. As Melvin told the ABC Board this past April, “I get home late and frequently the kitchen is closed by the time I get there.”
