The week in beer is here! Find details for any event in the D.C. Beer Events Calendar above or read on for a quick overview of the week in brew.
There are two huge events on Monday night at ChurchKey. First is a draft night featuring an education in barrel aged beer courtesy of Mikkeller. The “gypsy” brewer from Denmark known for his single hop and single yeast series beers has brewed an imperial stout, called Black Hole, and aged it in a variety of barrels. All six versions will be on draft at ChurchKey starting at 6 p.m.
The second event is a five-course beer vs. wine pairing dinner being held downstairs from ChurchKey at Birch & Barley. Proceeds for the massive event, put in conjunction with Firefly, will benefit the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for the Cure.
Also on Monday is a beer dinner at Clyde’s of Gallery Place featuring Port City brews from Alexandria, Virginia. On Tuesday, Dino on Cleveland Park is hosting a dinner with Williamsburg Alewerks beers. Also on Tuesday Belga Café will hold its monthly beer tasting dinner, this time focusing on Belgian white ales. Another one on Fireworks in Arlington is putting on a pairing dinner with six beers from Yards Brewing Company from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Finally, it’s the last week for JulyPA Days, in which all three Pizzeria Paradiso locations are pouring nothing but India pale ales on draft. A highlight this week is the cask of DC Brau Corruption at the Dupont location, but check out the full draft list for all three locations here.
