U Street tibs and fitfit temple Dukem (City Paper readers’ pick for “Best Ethiopian Restaurant 2011“) will make its case next week to stay open around the clock, neighborhood blog Prince of Petworth reports. According to a placard posted in the window, a hearing is scheduled for Aug. 22 before the District’s Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. The restaurant’s petition simply begs the question: Is it ever too late for spongy flat-bread and spicy lamb stew?
