“It’s very salty,” WTOP reporter Paul D. Shinkman remarks after taking his first bite of tacos de chapulines—that is, grasshoppers—at Oyamel in Penn Quarter. The news radio station assigned the “very ambivalent reporter” to sample the Mexican delicacy after reading about the ecological benefits of eating bugs in the New Yorker. Young & Hungry previously tossed back a bunch of the toasted critters (without the tortilla or guacamole) at the behest of Oyamel chef Joe Raffa (also seen here in the video), who seems to eat bugs with reporters quite often.

Check out the video below as Shinkman dutifully takes a second bite, then ever so slightly puts the rest of the taco back in its serving tray.
