We know D.C. Get our free newsletter to stay in the know.
And so it begins. Not even noon and Young & Hungry already receives its first notification of hurricane-themed specials at a D.C. watering hole.
I’ll be updating these as they arrive in ye olde inbox throughout the day. So check back often.
But give it up for Bar Dupont, the first venue to alert us to its natural-disaster promotion. On Sunday, enjoy a classic hurricane, dark and stormy, or “Intense Irene” cocktail (vodka, peach schnapps, blue curacao, and sour mix) for $5 a pop.
More stormy specials below:
Virtue Feed & Grain: beer and carbonated citrus specialty cocktails priced at $3, “and for the dauntless, bring in a pack of flashlight batteries for charity and we’ll throw in Va. peanuts,” a rep writes via email.
Granville Moore’s: offering a “Belgian hurricane made w/ passionfruit diep 9,” priced at $10 through Sunday [Twitter]
Redline: $6 hurricane shots, says rep
Duffy’s Irish Pub: $7 hurricanes this weekend [Twitter]
Queen Makeda: “slurricanes” tonight [Twitter]
Tonic at Quigley’s Pharmacy: offering the “Cat 5,” which a tipster describes as “a powerful take on the hurricane.” [Facebook]
Send in your venue’s tropical storm specials to hungry@washingtoncitypaper.com or stick ’em in the comments below.
