Everything must go! The Fauquier Times-Democrat reports that Oasis Vineyards, the Virginia winery formerly operated by cash-strapped socialites and notorious White House State Dinner crashers Tareq and Michaele Salahi, is headed to a U.S. Bankruptcy Court-ordered auction this coming Sunday, Sept. 18. The sale begins at noon at the winery, located at 14141 Hume Road. Proceeds will be used to help pay $3.3 million in claims by the couple’s 46 creditors. Some of the stuff, including “7,800 bottles of wine, a grape press, kitchen and catering equipment and a golf cart,” might seem like a good buy. But the paper interviewed several Virginia winemakers who turn their noses up at the quality of the defunct operation’s goods. Says one: “My understanding is that it’s totally in disrepair. The equipment’s a mess. The wine’s terrible. They’ve [the Salahis] destroyed it. There’s nothing there worth owning, at any price.”
