Travel + Leisure magazine has put out its list of “America’s Best Cities for Foodies,” and it seems the District’s burgeoning dining culture still has a long way to go in impressing the nation’s leisurely traveling public. The magazine’s reader poll pegs D.C. at No. 18, just ahead of Minneapolis and one spot back of Kansas City. New York nabbed the No. 5 spot while New Orleans took top honors. Voters duly noted the various D.C. restaurants “touting their fresh ingredients” and the “veritable UN of ethnic dining options” available in the area. The write-up also makes mention of José Andrés‘ America Eats Tavern as “one of the hottest tables in town.” (Read Y&H’s review here.)
