In the wake of four recent poisonings caused by toxic mushrooms in the D.C. area, the Huffington Post offers up a handy slideshow illustrating which local fungi not to eat and consults a national ‘shroom expert on the specifics. This one (pictured above) is the Chlorophyllum molybdites, which is described as a “beautiful white mushroom” that “looks delicious and apparently tastes pretty good, too….It won’t kill you but it’ll make you wish you were dead.”
