Monday is National Pie Day and Arlington’s Bayou Bakery, for one, is observing the crusty date by serving up some sweet and savory varieties by the slice. The proprietors are keeping mum about the exact flavors so you actually have to show up in order to see what’s available. Pie-seekers unafraid of braving the elements can find the Dangerously Delicious truck parked along Massachusetts Avenue NW near Union Station.
Monday also marks the Chinese New Year. Revelers, know this: Toki Underground is closed tonight because of the holiday. “Mom said it would be a years worth of bad luck,” chef-owner Erik Bruner-Yang reports via Twitter.
Meanwhile, it’s Facebook fan appreciation week at Urbana. The Dupont Circle restaurant is offering different deals every night to guests who demonstrate their social media love for the place. Tonight, friends of the eatery can indulge in $1 oysters at the bar.
Coming up: Belga Cafe hosts its monthly beer dinner on Tuesday, and don’t forget about City Paper‘s Best of D.C. 2012 voting party at Carmine’s on Thursday.
