Popular H Street ramen house Toki Underground will be closed tonight following the death of one of its staff members. The restaurant just made the announcement via Twitter. Chef-owner Erik Bruner-Yang declined to identify the staffer or make any further comment. Y&H extends his condolences to the Toki crew on their tragic loss.
UPDATE, 4:15 p.m.: Dining Bisnow is reporting that the Vietnamese pop-up scheduled for this coming Thursday through Saturday at Montserrat House, featuring the cooking of Toki chef Thang Le, has also been cancelled.
