High-end department store Bloomingdale’s is now cashing in on the street cred of D.C.’s best-known downmarket eatery. The fancy retailer is selling vintage-style Sportiqe Apparel t-shirts, emblazoned with the logo of Washington’s iconic frankfurter shop Ben’s Chili Bowl, starting at $28 a pop. In case you’re wondering, that price tag is roughly equivalent to nearly five of Ben’s signature Bill Cosby-endorsed chili half-smokes. But, without all the heartburn and indigestion—-just massive sticker shock. According to the manufacturer, the tees, part of Spotiqe’s “Hometown Classics collection,” depicting famous restaurants from various U.S. cities, will also be sold at retail chain Urban Outfitters later this spring.
