Last June, Y&H contributor Nevin Martell reported on the District’s underground raw milk market and how a government raid on an Amish farm in Pennsylvania threatened to curtail the supply to D.C.’s unpasteurized dairy purists. More bad news for those folks: according to a Food Safety News report, a federal judge has now issued a permanent injunction against Rainbow Acres Farm, forcing the popular raw milk supplier to discontinue service to the D.C.-based Grassfed On the Hill Buying Club. Luckily for local lacto-revolutionaries, there are other channels to get their raw milk fix. As previously reported, “a number of local community-supported agriculture cooperatives offer it to customers who know to ask the right questions.”
