Tonight, Central Michel Richard hosts its first fancy wine dinner of the year. With only a limited number of tickets (14) and a pretty hefty price tag to boot ($175 per person), you’re probably looking for a more affordable option. Here’s one: Taco Tuesday at The Argonaut. Each week, the early H Street pioneer runs a special on its signature fish tacos—-just $3, usually $13. Lightly breaded in cornmeal and flour, the flaky mahi-mahi comes served on warm flour tortillas, drizzled with creamy remoulade and topped with cheddar, diced tomatoes, and a crunchy cilantro-laced slaw of cabbage, red onion, and carrot. Arguably the tastiest fish tacos in town.

Coming up: on Wednesday, two craft brewers, Starr Hill and Old Dominion, bring firkins of Irish stout to Mellow Mushroom, where patrons will decide which is best. Tickets are $25. And, on Saturday, well, it’s St. Patrick’s Day, so you know there will be beer. And corned beef and cabbage. All across town.
