Get a free taste of an otherwise pricey imported Spanish ham, Jamón Ibérico de Bellota, at Boqueria on Saturday. The new tapas joint in town has invited Spanish pork expert and master carver Francisco Carrasco to come help train the staff and educate customers on the fancy artisanal cured meat. The stuff normally costs $32 for a single ounce serving when you order from the menu. So here’s your chance to try it without shelling out the bucks. The free tasting is offered from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Also this weekend: Smith Commons is offering some modest tax relief to one lucky soul. On Sunday, the first person that brings a copy of his tax return, showing an amount due or refund totaling $1,245 gets a $50 gift card to the restaurant.
