Your typical pairing dinner these days tends to fall into one of two categories: meals matched up with the wines of some up-and-coming grape-growing region and those combined with au courant craft beers. J&G Steakhouse takes a slightly different route. Tonight, the fancy beef emporium focuses on sake. Partakers will sample six different types of the Japanese rice drink, all paired with small plates by chef Philippe Reininger. Dishes include the chef’s signature rice cracker tuna, crab cake sliders and cherry coupe glace with pistachio ice cream. The price is $84 per person. Reserve your spot here.

Coming up: On Tuesday, Irish Whiskey hosts its weekly free whiskey tasting. This month’s featured brand is Concannon. Meanwhile, Alexandria’s Virtue Feed & Grain offers a five-course $55-per-person dinner, paired with Sam Adams limited release brews. And, on Wednesday, Carmine’s is slinging free sips of Peroni.
