We can't make City Paper without you
Inspired by the fine-art-themed libations on display at the annual “Artini” fundraiser at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Y&H earlier this month asked you, the imbibing public, to submit your own recipes for artsy cocktails of less fancy origin. We received a bunch of entries.
On Thursday, April 26, you can try these liquidy masterpieces for yourself and vote on your favorite when Fruit Bat showcases the four finalists. One drink pays tribute to a mugshot of former D.C. mayor and current D.C. Councilmember Marion Barry. Another is an homage to the graffiti of famed tagger Borf. Yet another one derives from actual artwork, namely the burlesque-themed paintings of Nik Helbig.
The winning recipe earns a spot on Fruit Bat’s cocktail menu and a $100 tab for its author.
The festivities begin at 7:30 p.m.
