Dupont Froyo and coffee spot Yola announced yesterday that it will permanently close its doors on Sept. 28. (Owner Laura Smith shares a very honest account of what it’s like to deal with a failing business in Washingtonian today.)
District Bean followed up with news that Neighborhood Restaurant Group (Birch & Barley, Buzz Bakery, Vermillion, etc.) would take over Yola’s storefront. NRG publicist Megan Bailey confirms to Y&H that the group will in fact be going into the space at 1323 Connecticut Ave. NW later this fall: “We are very excited to be coming to the neighborhood and will be sharing more details about the concept soon.”
