There are now fewer hours in the week for you to slurp ramen at Toki Underground.

Eater brings word that the popular H Street NE spot will no longer be open Sundays and is cutting back its kitchen hours from 2 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and midnight to 11 p.m. on Thursdays. “We are choosing to close on Sundays to continue to meet the standards we impose on ourselves here at the restaurant as well as those that we receive from our loyal customers on a regular basis,” the restaurant writes on its blog. (Eater further explains that the staff needs a break.)

There is some good news, though: Toki will now offer carry-out every day, not just Monday through Thursday.

UPDATE: Toki’s PR rep Sue-Jean Chun writes to note that Eater had “mistakenly” reported that the restaurant the staff needed a rest, and that actually the staff needs to “recharge (operationally) to prepare for the week ahead.” Parse that phrase as much as you like; the bottom line remains, no ramen on Sundays anymore.
