A&D, a new Shaw restaurant and bar from the owners of Seasonal Pantry and SUNdeVICH, opens tonight at 5 p.m.

Both owners Dan O’Brien (of brief Top Chef fame) and Ali Bagheri will split time in the kitchen. Their menu is broken down by small plates ($4-7) and big plates ($10-12). Among the big plate highlights is a reuben with beef tongue that’s been brined for 28 days, then cooked slow and low for eight hours. There’s also a meatloaf patty melt, smoked chicken sandwich, and chicken pot pie. Small plates include curry jalapeño pickled eggs, corn bread, potato chip poutine, and more. Daily specials will also be available.

The cocktail list highlights local distilleries like Catoctin Creek and New Columbia Distillers. Among the drinks you’ll find: the “A&D” with Belvedere, Green Hat Gin, and house made “dirty juice blend”; the “Shaw Sling” with Bulleit rum, pear nectar, lemon, rosemary syrup, and ginger fizz; and the “9th St. Coquito” with house-made eggnog, coconut milk, vanilla bean infused rum, brandy, and spice blend.
