It’s been two years since we first learned about ramen shop and izakaya Daikaya, which topped our ranking of the year’s most anticipated restaurants. The restaurant is now set to open this month, but whether it stays on track or not, you will definitely be able to get a taste.

The restaurant will “pop-up” at Living Social’s event space at 918 F St. NW on Jan 18 and 19 (with additional reservations on the Jan. 16 and 17, depending on demand). Tickets go on sale this Monday at 5 a.m.

Daikaya co-owner Daisuke Utagawa says the five-course meal will not feature ramen, which is laborious to prepare. Instead, the $79 dinner prepared by chef Katsuya Fukushima will include izakaya (Japanese tavern) dishes as well as cocktail, beer, and sake pairings. Check back for the menu on Monday.

CORRECTION: Turns out the Living Social folks initially gave us the wrong information. A previous version of this story stated that the pop-up will take place on Jan. 16 and 17. In fact, it will take place Jan. 18 and 19. Dinners on the 16th and 17th may be added, depending on demand.
