Sorry, District residents, but it looks like the PoPville “scuttlebutt” about Annandale’s popular Honey Pig Gooldaegee Korean Grillcoming to H Street NE isn’t true.

Vince Lee, whose mother Mickey Lee owns the restaurant, tells Y&H that although they’ve considered D.C. locations in the past, there are no current plans to open anything in D.C., let alone on H Street.

But there is some expansion news: They are in construction on a new location at Germantown, Md. (in the same shopping center as Yuraku Japanese Restaurant). It’s expected to open in about six months. They also recently opened a small dumpling shop called Honey Dumplinginside the new Lotte Plaza Asian market off of Route 40 West in Catonsville, Md. The menu features seven types of dumplings, including bulgogi, curry, pork, vegetable, and kimchi—all $2 each.

Honey Pig also has locations Ellicott City, Md. and Centreville, Va., as well as Honey Pig Izakaya in Annandale.
