H Street NE lost one of its main coffee hubs with the closure of Sova last week. The owners of Biergarten Haus have since taken over the space and plan to open H Street Coffeehouse there as soon as this Friday.
So to keep the neighborhood from going into caffeine withdrawal (or, heaven forbid, going to Starbucks) in the meantime, local micro-roaster Vigilante Coffee will takeover Biergarten Haus for a pop-up coffee shop. Beginning tomorrow from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., Vigilante founder Christopher Vigilante will offer espresso, Japanese pour over coffee, pastries, tea, and more. (There will also be WiFi.) The pop-up will run until H Street Coffeehouse opens.
That won’t be the last you’ll see of Vigilante on H Street. The coffee roaster, which also recently popped up at Mr. Yogato in Dupont, will set up a permanent spot inside food and fashion market Maketto when it opens later this year. H Street Coffeehouse will also serve Vigilante.
