There’s still time to nominate local icons for Best of D.C.
You’ve got only two more days to eat pickled tongue and brisket sandwiches at Hogo‘s Jewish deli food concept. Taking over the kitchen next Tuesday is chef Aaron Silverman, who’s opening Rose’s Luxury on Barracks Row later this spring.
Silverman hasn’t finalized the whole Hogo menu yet, but it will include five to six items ranging from $7 to $11. Among the dishes he definitely plans to serve is a pork sausage lychee coconut salad with peanuts, habanero, and other herbs. There will also be caramelized cauliflower with goat’s milk Greek yogurt and golden raisin puree, as well as Kusshi oysters from British Columbia topped with vinegar granita ice.
The Rose’s Luxury team will be at Hogo Tuesdays through Saturdays until March 16. Concurrently popping up at Hogo is local microroaster Vigilante Coffee, which will provide an espresso bar and single-origin pour-overs from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays throughout March.
