Mike Isabella is going back to his Jersey roots by opening G GrabandGo in his home state this spring. He’s teaming up with his sister Diana Isabella and brother-in-law Rob Wetchkus.
The 20-seat restaurant located in Edison is inspired by Graffiato and G, an Italian sandwich shop with evening tasting menu coming to 14th Street NW. G GrabandGo will serve sandwiches like chicken parm and cheesesteaks, soups, salads, and pastries. Unlike G and Graffiato, it will only be open for breakfast and lunch.

CHEF MIKE ISABELLA TO OPEN G GRABANDGO IN CENTRAL NEW JERSEY THIS SPRING
The Top Chef All-Star Partners with His Sister to Bring “Jersey Italian” Sandwiches Back to Their Home State
EDISON, NJ – April 10, 2013 – Top Chef All-Stars Runner-Up Mike Isabella is partnering with his sister Diana Isabella and brother-in-law Rob Wetchkus to open G GrabandGo in central New Jersey later this spring. The 20-seat, 1,300 square foot space at 260 Talmadge Rd in Edison will offer sandwiches, soups, salads and pastries for breakfast and lunch. G GrabandGo is a spin-off of Isabella’s Washington, D.C. Italian-inspired restaurant, Graffiato, and his forthcoming Italian sandwich shop, G, which will open in D.C. this summer.
“G GrabandGo is my spin on a New Jersey deli with some classic sandwiches like the Chicken Parm and an Italian Hero alongside more elevated sandwiches, wraps and pastries. Meats will be roasted in-house and bread will be baked fresh daily,” said Chef Mike Isabella. “With Graffiato and G, I’ve been bringing a little Jersey to Washington, D.C., now with the help of my sister and brother-in-law, I’m bringing a little of my cooking style back to Jersey.”
G GrabandGo will be open Monday through Saturday. Breakfast favorites will include a Steak, Egg and Pepperonata Herb Warp and The Jersey Mac, with Taylor ham, muenster cheese and egg on an English muffin or croissant, as well as Spiced Oat Porridge with almonds, dried cherries and maple syrup. For lunch, look for twists on the classics, such as the Cheese Steak with caramelized onions, cherry pepper relish and provolone and a Grilled Cheese with Vermont cheddar, provolone and tomato marmalade.
Store Hours: Monday-Friday, 7am-6pm; Saturday, 7am-2pm
