DC Brau is on a roll with its restaurant collaborations. The brewery teamed up with The Red Hen on a barrel-aged brew released last week. Next comes The Golden Calf, a collaboration with DGS Delicatessen.
The limited-edition beer combines DC Brau’s Yonder Cities, a Belgian IPA, with DGS Delicatessen’s slivovitz plum mash. Slivovitz is a plum brandy with origins in Eastern Europe which beverage director Brian Zipin makes in-house.
DGS will host a release party for The Golden Calf on June 27 from 8 to 11 p.m. Make sacrifices to your stomach with a special menu from chef Barry Koslow, including pastrami chili dogs with DC Brau beer mustard and half-sour pickles fermented in a Catoctin Creek whiskey barrel. (The whiskey is kosher, even if the deli’s not.)
The beer, $6, will be available until the 10.2 gallons run out.
