We’re only a few weeks from September 17th, and if that doesn’t mean anything to you, clearly you aren’t Irish enough! September 17th marks the halfway point to our favorite holiday, St. Patrick’s Day! So in that way of thinking, we thought we would check in with one of DC’s top Irish bars, Irish Whiskey Public House.
Known for reinventing the concept of the traditional Irish Pub, Irish Whiskey offers three floors of a unique -yet modern- architectural design, guaranteed to make you feel like you’re sitting in a Pub in Dublin. Almost more impressive than the interior is the Pub’s collection of Whiskey. To date, they have the “country’s largest selection of Irish Whiskeys” with 63 varieties. Not in the mood for Irish Whiskey on the rocks? Not a problem! They can whip you up one of their signature Whiskey cocktails (think an Irish Sangria!) or pour you one of the 60 beers from their beer list.
Don’t worry about being a Whiskey newbie either. The bartenders are happy to set up a private tasting or advise a pairing to compliment your meal. May we also suggest you sign up for their Whiskey Club app when it launches this fall. We hear you have the opportunity to win a free trip to Dublin once you’ve completed the Club!
And of course, being the Irish way, Irish Whiskey isn’t one to shy away from a good ceilidh. The “Dublin Room” (pictured above) with its private bar and couches for lounging, has quickly become one of the most sought after places to host your private party. Note to self…reserve as early as you can because they book up quickly!
Keeping up with the party theme, they offer some pretty insane specials. Mainly, $1 BOTTLES of Champagne at Brunch. You read that correctly. One.Dollar.Bottles. (With a $10 food order.) They also have Happy Hour specials Monday – Friday, 3pm – 7pm, featuring $4 select beer and glasses of wine. Mondays are for ½ Priced Burgers and Thursdays feature ½ Price Bottles of Wine starting at 7pm.

So whether you were born in the homeland or simply enjoy the taste of a cold Guinness, we encourage you to check out Irish Whiskey Public House. Especially with September 17th approaching. It’s going to be quite the party!!
