Tex-Mex restaurant Diego was open only two weeks before it closed at the beginning of August.

At the time, co-owner Michael Askarinam told Y&H he wasn’t satisfied with the food and service, so he temporarily shut down the restaurant until he could find a new chef. A month and a half later, the restaurant is still closed and Askarinam says he is still searching.  “We’ve been discussing lots of people, and it hasn’t worked out,” Askarinam says. He still has some other chefs in mind, including one who’s coming down from Boston today.

Askarinam says once he finds the right chef, he’ll be able to reopen Diego in as little as 10 days because the permitting and management team are already in place.
