Seitan and tempeh fans, a new vegan destination is coming to Penn Quarter. A liquor license notice reveals that California-founded fast casual restaurant Native Foods Cafe is on its way to 701 Pennsylvania Ave. NW. (Before you freak out, it’s not replacing 701 Restaurant which shares the address; it’s just right around the corner.)
Native Foods already has about 15 locations in California, Colorado, Illinois, and Oregon. In an April press release, the restaurant announced plans to open 200 locations over the next five years. That expansion includes D.C., Baltimore, and Philadelphia. Check out the menu here.
Y&H has reached out to Native Foods and will update this post with more information when it’s available.
