Two fast casual restaurants in the midst of big expansion spurts open in the ‘burbs today: ShopHouse in Bethesda and Sweetgreen in McLean.
The Sweetgreen location at 6707 Old Dominion Drive is celebrating its newest spot with a pay-what-you-want deal from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. All the proceeds will benefit FRESHFARM Markets. The local salad chain now has more than 20 shops across D.C., Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, and Massachusetts.
The ShopHouse at 4820 Bethesda Ave. is the third in the area, following Dupont Circle and Georgetown. The Southeast Asian noodle and rice bowl eatery also has plans to open in Chinatown and the Pike & Rose development in Rockville.
