Chef Neil Negri, who started at Room 11 as a line cook back in April, will be the wine bar and restaurant’s new executive chef. Negri previously worked stints at Zaytinya, America Eats Tavern, Big Bear Cafe, and Sakuramen.

Negri has already been adding his own dishes to the eclectic menu at Room 11 over the last couple months. The half-Korean, half-Swiss-Italian chef says he’s trying to incorporate some flavors from his Korean roots in particular, with dishes like grilled Korean short ribs with homemade napa cabbage kimchi, ultra-crunchy fried chicken, and spicy squid stir fry. Negri also highlights a carrot soup with beets and fried carrot strips. Other popular dishes, including the grilled cheese, cauliflower salad, and risotto, will remain on the menu.

“I read a lot of cookbooks. I’m trying to go out and eat a lot. Everything is an influence and an experience, so I just try to put that on the menu,” Negri says. “My style’s going to keep on evolving.”
