Stay warm the Russian way today: Mari Vanna is offering a free shot of vodka to patrons before 7 p.m. The Dupont restaurant offers a number of infused vodkas, including horseradish, pineapple, and cucumber dill.

While that’s hard to beat, here are some more deals:

California Tortilla locations nationwide will give patrons (who make a purchase) chips and queso for the cost of whatever the wind chill factor is as at 10 a.m. at the restaurant chain’s headquarters in Rockville. So if the temperature is 10 degrees, you’ll pay 10 cents. If it’s -5 degrees? The restaurant will pay you five cents.(UPDATE: The temperature was negative 10 degrees, which means you get 10 cents to eat chips and queso.)

Whole Foods stores in Glover Park and Foggy Bottom are giving out free coffee or tea.


Sushi Taro is offering 20 percent off the entire menu at dinner. Dine-in only.

Dino will have free lentil soup tonight, until supplies run out. Wines that are $75 or more are a third-off and wines above $150 are half-off.

Alba Osteria is offering half-price pizza all day at the bar for lunch and dinner.

Get chestnut soup and a glass of wine for $10 at Spike Mendelsohn‘s Bearnaise.

Half-price wings from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. and $5 Jameson all night at Duffy’s.

Say “it never freezes in Havana” and get a Vino Caliente Cuban spiced mulled wine for free with the purchase of an entree at Cuba Libre.
