The space belonging to restaurateur Eric Hilton at 2005 14th St. NW has gone through many identities in its two-and-a-half year life span—Blackbyrd Warehouse, Hanoi House, a test kitchen for Maketto, and as of tomorrow, Den of Thieves.
Like its predecessor, Den of Thieves will focus on street-style Asian food plus cocktails—all under $10. The revamped 50-seat venue will also have a strong music component with a rotation of local bands and DJs, including Thievery Corporation’s Eric Hilton himself. Hilton will kick off the DJ schedule, spinning the first three Saturdays beginning Jan. 18. Hilton describes the bar in a press release as “the space I had in mind for all of my artist and DJ friends” as well “that perfect low key, underground hang.”
