Another week, another round-up of snow-related food and drink specials. But today there’s extra incentive to hit the bars: St. Patrick’s Day. We’ve combined both occasions into one mega round-up of places to eat and drink. We’ll continue to update this list throughout the day, so email hungry@washingtoncitypaper.com with more specials.

Alba Osteria

Half-price wine all day.

Bar Pilar

Corned lamb tongue and cabbage sliders are $7 and green eggs and ham divildd eggs are $2 each.


$7 cocktails and $6 French onion soup all day.

The Brixton 

$5 Irish stew, drink specials, and trivia tonight. Black Masala performs at 7 p.m. with no cover.

Cafe/Bar Dupont

St. Patrick’s Day specials include $16 fish and chips, $24 guinness-braised short ribs, and $9 bread and butter pudding. Chase it down with $10 glasses and $45 pitchers of Tarragon Paradise.

Cafe Saint-Ex

$6 Jameson shots, $6 Great Lakes Irish Ale, $6 twice baked potato Shepherd’s pie, $8 braised lamb and Guinness stew.

California Tortilla

At all locations, get free green chips and a pot of queso with any purchase.

Cashion’s Eat Place

Opens at 2 p.m. with $5 beers and rail drinks, $7 cocktails, half price wines by the glass, and 30 percent off bottles of wine.

Del Campo 

All day happy hour at the bar.

The Dubliner

Doors open at 10 a.m. with three bands playing on two stages all day plus six bars, including on the tented patio. A new bar menu, including a whiskey menu, are also being released this week. The Dubliner celebrates its 40th anniversary this month.

El Centro D.F.

All day happy hour on drinks.

El Chucho

All night happy hour with $4 Jameson, margaritas in lieu of green beer, and chorizo bangers and mash.


The Odd Bar at Eventide opens at 4 p.m. with irish food specials and featured drinks.

G Sandwich Shop

Irish coffee for $7 and a corned beef and cabbage sandwich for $12 will be available through the week.

Granville Moore’s 

Open at noon for lunch. Bar will remain open through dinner service.

The Heights

Irish hot chocolate with Baley’s hazelnut and a pint of Conway’s Irish ale are each $6. Get the pint with a shot of Tullamore Dew whiskey for $9.

Hill Country Barbecue

Opens at 11:30 a.m. with $4 Shiner cans and $20 draft pitchers all day.

Irish Whiskey Public House

Opens at 8 a.m. (yes, in the morning) with $5 breakfast sandwiches and $5 irish coffee until 10 am. Stay for an all day party with Guinness, Smithwicks, Jameson, Baileys, and more.

Jack Rose Dining Saloon

Stop by beginning at 11 a.m. for an all-day Irish happy hour with $5 pints of Guinness and Flying Dog S.O.B. Irish Red Ale, $5 Irish punch, $5 whiskey specials on Powers and Paddys, and $6 Jameson. Irish-themed food includes colcannon cakes, beer-battered fish and chips, and Irish cheddar and rashers burgers.  From 6 to 8 p.m., Castle Brands Irish Whiskey will host a whiskey tasting and pairing with Irish-inspired hors d’oeuvres. The tasting is $40 and includes one ounce pours of four whiskeys plus food.

Logan Tavern

All day happy hour at the bar and community table with half-priced draft beers, Irish-inspired cocktails, fish and chips, and bite-sized Irish rolls.

Menu MBK

Free hot chocolate in the market.

P.J. Clarke’s 

From 2:45 p.m. until close, get $5 bar bites including corned beef spring rolls, mini shepherd’s pie, and Bailey’s cheese cake. Jameson, Guinness, and Irish coffee are available all day for $5. Also look out for a pipe and drum performance by the D.C. Fire Department’s Emerald Society Pipe and Drum Corps. Bonus: the restaurant is raffling off a $1,884 bar tab in honor of its founding year. Purchase a commemorative P.J. Clarke’s St. Patrick’s Day t-shirt for $10 today to enter.

Poste Moderne Brasserie

A Bloody Mary bar, bottomless mimosas, and happy hour are available all day.

Public Bar

$2 Coors Light, $3 Blue Moon, $5 baby Guinness shooters, $5 Bushmills whiskey.

Shake Shack

Sopping up all that green beer? The Dupont and F Street NW locations will offer “Irish Fries Are Smiling” Shack fries topped with horseradish cream, scallions, and applewood bacon for $4.

Spider Kelly’s 

Opens at noon today with free pool and shuffleboard all day plus all-day happy hour with Irish drink specials

Star and Shamrock

Opens at 10 a.m. with Guinness and Irish/Jewish fare. At 8 p.m., Celtic duo The Molly Hawks will perform.

Sticky Fingers

Half price beer and wine, $4 boozy coffees, and stout cupcakes and bourbon pecan cookie sandwiches in honor of St. Patrick’s Day.


All night happy hour from 4 p.m. to close.
