Today, WaPo’s Paul Schwartzman dropped his balanced take on Ward One Councilmember Jim Graham. Buried inside all the blather is this rather hilarious detail concerning the incumbent’s press strategy with WaPo:

“Despite his apparent cushion, Graham zealously guards his image. He declined to be interviewed for this article, but kept close tabs on the reporting — telephoning and sending numerous e-mails to Washington Post editors to complain that a reporter’s questions to others suggested a negative bias. He eventually agreed to answer written questions.”

And I thought Fenty was uptight on answering reporters’ questions.

*Full Disclosure: The last time I tried to interview Graham, he declared that former Loose Lips columnist Mike DeBonis was unprofessional and hung up the phone. Graham was referring to our cover story on Ted Loza.
