WTOP’s Mark Segraves is reporting that two workers have been cut by the D.C. Board of Elections and Ethics after making hostile remarks about Mayor Adrian Fenty inside a voting center(s). Segraves writes:
“According to Mayor Fenty’s re-election campaign chairman Bill Lightfoot, a precinct captain and a Fenty poll observer overheard a Board Of Elections and Ethics employee tell a voter that Fenty had a poor record when it comes to womens’ issues.
Lightfoot says the employee was immediately asked to leave the voting center at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center. The incident happened last Saturday.
Rokey Suleman, Executive Director of the BOEE, would not say what disciplinary actions were taken against the two employees who were involved in the separate but similar incidents.
Suleman did indicate the two are no longer working at any polling facilities.
‘They no longer have the ability to do that,’ Suleman tells WTOP.”
