It’s no secret that conservatives and Republicans are strongly supporting Adrian Fenty, mostly because they support School Chancellor Michelle Rhee and her reform efforts. Exhibit A: The Washington Examiner’s endorsement of Fenty.

It’s also no secret that Fenty has made a last minute attempt, which he promptly pooped on, to get President Barack Obama‘s endorsement.

Is there a tenuous, irrelevant link between these two facts? Why, yes, there is: Turns out one of the contributing writers to the Examiner editorial was online opinions editor David Freddoso, who also wrote the book “The Case Against Barack Obama: The Unlikely Rise and The Unexamined Agenda of the Media’s Favorite Candidate.”

(Full disclosure, LL used to work at the Examiner and can vouch that Freddoso is a very nice guy.)

Freddoso told LL his support of Fenty is all about Rhee and school reform, and said, “You’re always endorsing a candidate relative to other candidates.”
