LL just got off the phone with Attorney General Peter Nickles, who says beloved group-home leader David Wilmot has not met the 3 p.m. deadline to pay the city more than $240,000 in penalties associated with problems at his group homes for the developmentally disabled.
“No money,” says Nickles, who added that the city will be moving “right away” to take the homes away from Wilmot’s Individual Development Inc.
Update: Here’s Nickles’ second letter, which says Nickles is going to take away six of Wilmot’s group homes. Wilmot has five business days to appeal, but Nickles indicated to LL earlier that the 3 p.m. deadline for payment was solid and non-negotiable.
