Former Mayor Adrian Fenty has signed up as “an outside advisor and counsel” for the Philadelphia-based accounting and consulting firm,Heffler, Radetich & Saitta LLP, the firm announced today in a release.

“Drawing on his extensive government and political network and administrative abilities, Fenty will help further develop and enhance the firm’s preeminent position in class action litigation support services, as well as health care industry consulting and forensic accounting services,” according to the firm’s statement.

Says Fenty in the release: “My work as mayor gave me first-hand exposure to what was and is possible in evolution and growth of services and business, despite government’s complex bureaucracy … I had extensive dealings with the business community in all my government roles.  …  I am confident I can use my experience to find and develop new business opportunities for Heffler, Radetich & Saitta and to help serve our clients across all their fields of endeavor.”

It looks like from the release that Fenty will be working at the firm’s “Washington platform.”

The release calls Fenty “the celebrated public servant and lawyer who completed a successful four-year term as Washington mayor this month,” and who “gained a reputation for efficient, honest and dynamic leadership, as he worked successfully to improve the schools, brought the crime rate in the city down substantially, and pushed through civil rights legislation, culminating in legalizing same-sex marriage in the District of Columbia with the bill he signed in December 2009.”
