There’s still time to nominate local icons for Best of D.C.
Less than a week after the first media mention of the Mysterious Vince Gray Support Group, the mayor’s office is declining to name who sits on the clandestine group.
“Can not confirm, I wasn’t there,” says Gray spokeswoman Linda Wharton-Boyd, when LL asked her to confirm some possible members of MVGSG who attended a recent pow-wow with Gray at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
LL got wind of just how secretive MVGSG was this week after an email among members was forwarded his way. In the email, Ward 4 ANC commissioner Dwayne Toliver lambastes colleagues for sharing details of their conversations with the Washington Post.
“Every member of this group agreed to maintain the confidentiality of our group’s information
and comments” he wrote.
But LL is more interested in the group, which was apparently assembled to help get Gray back on track after a bumbling start to his administration, than in the purported confidentiality violations. Who are these people and what do they want? Anyone out there seen a group of folks in One City buttons huddling in a hidden clubhouse nearby?
