It’s been a rough week for Metropolitan Police Department Chief Cathy Lanier. First the whole mess over Young Guns star Charlie Sheen getting a high-speed police escort was dragged back into the news at a council hearing. During said hearing, one of her underlings basically called her a liar and is now threatening to sue her.
Then there was well-documented violence after Saturday’s Caribbean Carnival parade, which left one innocent bystander dead.
And now Ward 1 Councilmember Jim Graham (who is having a rough day of his own due to the fact that his former chief of staff was just sentenced to eight months in prison on corruption charges) is piling on by saying he has “serious questions” about the “diligence” of Lanier’s department in preventing Saturday’s shooting.
