Here’s some Friday-in-August news that a very small number of people care about: Council Chairman Kwame “Fully Loaded” Brown‘s chief of staff Nicole Streeter has resigned.
Streeter came on board after Brown won the chairmanship and lasted about eight months—a not uncommonly short period of time for Brown’s office.
“Nicole Streeter served as an important part of the transition of my at-large office to the Office of the Chairman,” says Brown in a statement after the Post wrote of Streeter’s departure. “She lent her valuable support to me and the District of Columbia during her tenure.”
Streeter’s a Berkeley Law School grad and former council staffer to Mayor Vince Gray who, like other former Brown staffers, probably felt annoyed at never being included in Brown’s inner circle.
Speaking of Gray… plenty of people at the Wilson Building are currently playing the waiting game as to when Hizzoner is going to announce his permanent chief of staff. Little birds have told LL it’s likely not going to be Paul Quander, who has filled in on an interim basis ever since Gray shitcanned his disastrous first chief of staff Gerri Mason Hall. Christopher Murphy, a deputy chief of staff at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, has had his name mentioned a few times as Gray’s top pick.
And in wayyyy late chief of staff news: Councilmember David Catania’s old COS Ben Young left the Wilson Building last week. Catania’s new chief of staff is Jordan Hutchinson, who is married to Ward 6 Councilmartyr Tommy Wells‘ chief of staff Charles Allen. Wonder what they talk about after work.
