Jeff Thompson, the man in the middle of a federal investigation into Mayor Vince Gray‘s 2010 mayoral campaign, was booted off the University of the District of Columbia’s fundraising foundation about a year and a half ago.
Thompson, a UDC alum, served as president of the schools’ Foundation Inc. for a number of years before the UDC’s Board of Trustees voted unanimously to remove him in December of 2010, according to school spokesman Alan Etter.
“The perception at the time that nothing was really moving forward with the foundation,” says Etter. “Nothing was really happening.”
A call to Thompson’s lawyer wasn’t immediately returned.
