Former D.C. Council Chairman Kwame “Fully Loaded” Brown did not, as previously planned, give a speech today on local business development to  a small number of  construction and development types.

A day after LL broke the news last week that Brown, who resigned in June and pleaded guilty to bank fraud, was set to give a speech about the city’s Certified Business Enterprise program, one of the speech’s organizers said the event was off. Jason Parker Johnson, executive director of the Washington Development Industry Council, sent an email to the nonprofit’s members at 1:47 p.m. last Tuesday saying the event was cancelled, according to an email string obtained by LL. But less than an hour later, he sent another email saying the speech “has not been cancelled but postponed.” Johnson didn’t give a new date for the rescheduled shindig. Johnson has not returned emails seeking comment and the phone number at the WDIC, which has a very low profile in this town, is disconnected.

Brown, who LL no longer has a working phone number for and couldn’t reach immediately, is set to be sentenced in September. Meanwhile, he shared this nugget of wisdom the same day his speech was postponed.
