Yesterday was a day of contrasts for two Ward 7 politicians first elected to the council in 2004. Former D.C. Council Chairman Kwame “Fully Loaded” Brown was sentenced to six months of home detention and escorted into D.C. Superior Court in handcuffs and shackles.

A few hours later, Mayor Vince Gray was schmoozing with pals, staff, and lobbyists at a birthday party/fundraiser at Nationals Park, where he was given a baseball bat autographed by Nats skipper Davey Johnson (named the National League manager of the year yesterday, conveniently enough) and serenaded by Chuck Brown‘s daughter KK.
