Backed up by a DJ playing Alicia Keys‘ “Girl on Fire,” Muriel Bowser rallied her campaign workers in a lot near Nationals Park early this morning. Among Bowser’s requests: Don’t leave the polls early to go to the campaign party, and remember that we need general election votes, too.

“Everybody that’s not with us today, well, they’re going to be with us in November,” Bowser said.

Adrian Fenty 2006 mastermind Tom Lindenfeld was on hand, pleased with the rally’s timing ahead of early morning news broadcasts. Also delighting Lindenfeld in the predawn hours: Vince Gray’s increasing focus on his bases in the eastern half of the city.

“He talked about One City,” Lindenfeld says. “Now he’s got less than half the city.”
