Admitted Jeff Thompson shadow campaign beneficiary Kelvin Robinson will have more time now to think about his impending August sentencing. Robinson no longer works as the business development director for D.C. Health Link, according to a spokeswoman for the D.C. Health Benefit Exchange Authority.

Health exchange spokeswoman Mahlori Isaacs spokeswoman confirmed to LL that Robinson is out, but declined to explain the circumstances of his exit. Robinson’s lawyer, Vandy L. Jamison Jr., declined to comment.

Robinson also doesn’t appear to be employed elsewhere in the District government. A list of District government employees’ salaries posted online Thursday didn’t list his name.

Robinson earned positive words from the D.C. Health Link’s executive director in May shortly after prosecutors indicted him for covering up help he received from Thompson for failed 2010 D.C. Council at-large and Ward 6 campaigns.

Still, emails obtained by LL through the Freedom of Information Act show that senior health exchange staffers took swift interest in the charges against Thompson. On May 22, after Robinson was charged, health exchange general counsel Purvee Kempf emailed Robinson and asked for more information about his indictment. Kempf wanted to talk about the charges with the executive board of the health exchange at a meeting scheduled for that morning, just two days after Robinson was indicted.
